ASBEC’s objective is for Australia to be a leader in reducing ecological impacts, improving economic returns and extending community amenity of the built environment through mainstream sustainability.
ASBEC aims to be the peak consultative forum on built environment sustainability in Australia and develop a uniform built environment industry response to the environmental and ecological issues that now face the industry.
ASBEC works closely with its members, with other peak body organisations in the built environment and with Australian Government at Federal, State and local levels, through direct consultation and through the work of the ASBEC Task Groups. ASBEC is often sought out for representation on government consultations due to the diversity of membership that it represents.
It is ASBEC’s objective to ensure built environment sustainability issues are central on government agendas, and it works in collaboration with the three levels of government and professional and other peak organisations, to produce a prioritised action agenda for the future.
