As residential buildings are responsible for approximately 24% of total electricity use and over 10% of Australia’s carbon emissions, improving residential energy efficiency and accelerating electrification are crucial components of Australia’s transition to net zero emissions.
We urge the Australian government to support the actions within its remit and provide leadership and financial backing to assist states and territories undertake the activities under their jurisdiction to strengthen workforce outcomes.
