The Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council (ASBEC) is a collaborative forum of peak bodies in the Australian built environment, focused on achieving a vision of sustainable, productive and resilient buildings, infrastructure, communities and cities.
ASBEC’s membership consists of industry members, including industry associations, professional bodies and not-for profit organisations, along with government and academic observers. Collectively, our members are involved in the planning, design, delivery and operation of our built environment.
ASBEC collaborates for impact in pursuit of a sustainable built environment by:
- Providing opportunities for members to collaborate, exchange knowledge, prepare for change, share expertise and showcase best practice.
- Establishing and nurturing strong relationships between industry, government and academia to solve our biggest sustainability challenges.
- Completing research and analysis to inform policy development, in alignment with relevant global and domestic sustainability frameworks.
- Advocating for evidence-based policy improvements by leveraging our collective voice, reducing duplication and accelerating industry-wide approaches.
