The Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council (ASBEC) welcomes the opportunity to make a submission to the Future Melbourne Committee in relation to the adoption of Melbourne Planning Scheme Amendment C376: Sustainable Building Design.
We commend the City of Melbourne for its ambitious target of net zero by 2040 and its recognition that the improved environmental performance of buildings will play a leading role in helping achieve these targets. ASBEC acknowledges the Amendment C376 involves changing the planning rules to ensure development achieves best practice in environmentally sustainable design.
